Guess who's back...back again...(with starry socks)

Hello all you beautiful icicles!
Isn't that a fab word to look at... Icicles..

So, ITS BEEN CHRISTMAS AHHHH OMFG ADGC RENJBEFIYGFYUEFHVYGISEFVVHGZDFBVHGZIRBFIUGBVDGUBDFIUGSVBFDGUFDVB

Yeah. It was a goodun (a flipping amazing goodun) of a christmas; I ate, was merry, had fabulous prezzies, fabulous company, oh it was so HOLLY and JOLLY.

So I see a patten emerging here. Christmas goes, the crisp fresh wintery start if January comes (well, it's still christmas month WAHOO) and I start a new blog (notice how I've used my old blog though, ayyyy)

See, I'm a bad blogger. I get into it and make loads of oosts which are filled with crap because whenever I write like I speak I sound like a 9 year old who has tried champagne on New Years' Eve and pretended they were #totallycrazyyyyyy  - but this is how I write. Leave me be.

Hopefully me and blogging will get on better this coming year but I can't decide which blog to carry on! Damsons and Dandelions, the original New Years Resolution blog or Being Eshy B, the random 3/4 through the year resolution "fashion" blog.. Who knows....

But anywho please expect some more posts so do follow and tweet me and everything (@eshbeanie) because that'd be fab and I really do appreciate you guys.

Lots of love,
esh
Xoxo

P.S. Is it weird I write my blog like a letter?

P.P.S. Let's quickly appreciate my beautiful Christmas Day dress and my coffee.

Short Hair Shabang

Hello lovelies!

So some of you may know, I cut my hair recently... Well, I didn't; a hairdresser did but I digress, my hair went from long(ish) curls to short choppiness.

I'll just explain really quickly what happend. I went in, I showed her a picture, she said it would work blah blah blah, she chopped my ponytail off, washed my hair, then shaped and styled. I LOVED it. I still do! But the day after having it cut I was scared it would grow. After four weeks I was complaining about how long it had grown. Obviously it wasn't LONG but when you've got short hair my oh MY it is noticeable - and not just to me! If it grows a tiny little bit, it's like it has COMPLETELY changed!

Short hair = low maintenance is RUBBISH. okay maybe it isn't, loads of people love short hair because it is easy to maintain but let me tell you something; I use heat on my hair every single day. Apart from yesterday (I found a way of maintaining it with no heat! I'll tell you in a bit ;) ). Reason why; my hair has gone straight since having short hair hich is really weird and I have nothing against straight hair I love it, but I miss my natural curls! And it curls in at the bottom making me look like an old lady. It looks NEAT. whaaaaaaat?! So I curl it and it looks nice (I think heheh) but for low maintenance hair it looks crap. I did say I knew it would be and I was ready for it, and I love it so much I think it's really unique and really nice but I think I'm going to grow it out. Not to a length like before, where I just don't care about it (since my haircut I've cared a lot more about beauty and fashion which is great I feel like I was so lazy with my lion mane before), but maybe a nice shoulder length where I can let it be curly but I can also style it ;)

Really quickly:
SHORT HAIR GOOD POINTS:
1. It takes practically no time to wash, and if I run out of conditioner it doesn't matter as much
2. I actually care for my hair now
3. It goes less greasy and limpy lanky
4. It's unique and it's a statement
5. Short hair and dresses are two peas in a pod

Okay yes now I really want to keep it but here's some other points,
SHORT HAIR BAD POINTS(for my hair, not everyone's):
1. I have to heat style it lots
2. If it looks crap and I've got to go, there's only so much I can do
3. It either looks really bad or nice
4. Lower cut tshurts make me feel really awkward with short hair

Any who, that concludes today's post. I'm gonna grow it out but if I hate that awkward stage and miss my short hair, I'll just cut it again :)

Toodle pip lovelies!

HEATLESS HAIRSTYLE FOR SHORT HAIR:
On each side of your hair, grab a section from about your ear or crown to to the end of your ear (if that makes sense) and plait it. Secure with a tie and sleep on it, or, if your hsir is wet, ,eave it to dry like this. Take out, and bobby pin a section from each side like you would a half up half down style. Finis!

Breakfast, Lunch, Productivity and Lazy Days

Hello!

How are you on this sunshiney day?

Oh good!

So today i woke up, checked the time saw that it was around ten, and so i (after checking my oh-so-important facebook notifications) bolted out of bed, got dressed and made myself some breakfast.

PORRIDGE WITH BANANA, HAZELNUTS AND HONEY IS SO GOOD.
so good.
i'm not even kidding.
okay?
okay.

What you do (cheeky little recipe in here ;) ) is you weigh out 50g of quicking cooking oats, NOT instant and not jumbo (i use Sainsbury's Scottish Organic Porridge Oats). You then measure 270ml of milk/water or a combination of both (i normall use half to a third soya milk and the rest water), and put it in with the oats and just cook on a high heat until however cooked you like it to be! Pour it into a bowl, Then mash up (not too much) 1/2 or 1 banana, and throw it in. Throw some hazelnuts on there, drizzle some natural honey and bobs your uncle!
Good lord, it does taste good.

What did i do after that... ummm, i youtube-d. For a long time. Then i pulled myself together and did my english homework, made pea, mint and courgette soup (recipe below) ate it with a load of bread and dips and stuff with me fam, and now here we are!

Anyway, what did you guys do today? I'm going to head out with me mum to do my history homework thing and probably do more homework... sad face :( heheheh at least it's still warm!

I never know what to wear on lazy days, which is stupid because the should be the easiest days to dress for? Well, not lazy days - actually a lot of the time "lazy days" are quite productive. You blog, vlog, do homework, cook, bake all that stuff! But i never know what to wear?! Do i dress in jeans and a cute top like it's a normal but casual day? Joggers and a hoodie? Leggings? Jumpers? Cardigans? i end up re-dressing!
Right now i'm "sporting" a nice top, an oversized cardigan and some leggings. That way, if i have to go out i won't feel like a knob because I'm dressed in sports gear, when in actual fact i've been sitting at home watching makeup tutorials, but i won't feel all uncomfortable in something at home when i'm trying to snuggle up in a blanket like a hedgehog. (excuse my language up there ^^^)

Anywho, i think that's it!

Talk to you soon!

Pea, Mint and Courgette Soup!

You'll need:

  • One onion, or (if you're lucky) a bunch of spring onions
  • 3 courgettes
  • 900ml of veggie stock
  • 200g of frozen, or fresh peas
  • a large handful of fresh mint
  • greek or soya yogurt (2tbsp plus extra for serving)
  • Salt (if needed) and pepper.
First of all, chop up your onions and courgettes. Then heat a splash of olive oil (or a knob of butter) in  a large saucepan, and chuck in your onions and courgettes. Lower the heat to medium, cover, and cook for 3 minutes.
After your 3 mins, throw in the stock and peas, bring to the boil then cover, simmer and let that do it's thing for 4 minutes.
(whilst it's doing that, prepare your food proccessor, get your mint ready and do a little boogie to some jolly summer songs)
Take the pan off the heat, and stir in your mint until wilted. Throw it into your food processor in two batches, and on the second batch, at the yogurt.
Pour back int the pan, keep the heat on until everyone is ready and season to taste.
Pour into bowls, and put around a tsp of yogurt on. Serve with fresh bread and as many dips as possible!

Good Morning Sunshine

The sun came out, so i  decided to say hey.

Hair

Hello!

As you've proooobably guessed by le title, this blog post is all about HURRR.

Recently i've been faffing about with my hair, deciding what i like.
Then suddenly, i became in love... no, obsessed with..

Short hair.
3 days, it's been (well, really 2 and a quarter, including today) and i have been obsessing over this.
I asked most of my friends, they all said it would look cute but quite rightfully, one of them gave me the advice that it will be a huge statement and change.
I've read articles and articles about; what suits your face shape/body shape/hair type/hair texture
Videos and videos about how to accessorize short hair/how to style it/why guys don't like it (not all, just this video was extremely sexist stating girls should never get short hair because it shows that they have "made up their own mind"?!!?!?!?!!?! bloody ridiculous)/how to make it girly, etc etc etc.

I had a conversation with my mum last night, she told me that if i cut it she wouldn't come with me because it made her sad that i wanted to chop my horse mane off. She also reminded me that when i was younger and i got a "bob" i hated it.
But this morning she said that we can go to the hairdressers, ask what she thinks and then chop it to shoulder length and make it nice, and then if i feel that i'm ready for short short, i'll go for it.
I also said to her that when i had my hair in a bob, i'd actually asked for something completely different, I'd asked the hairdresser to literally just make it shorter at the back, but she gave me a little bob and being 9 i obviously didn't style it or accessorize it.

Anywho, if you have stayed till this far I applaud you; now onto the pictures! Just one more thing, I know that i really want a short cut, for me it's just deciding which, but i will talk to the hairdressers anyway. (and i know it's just hair and it'll grow back, but it's nice to have a nice do')
this is my hair now. preeeetty long, curly, long layers so really flat on top but big near the end.

Tuppence Middleton. i LOVE her hair. She has a little fringe and just sort of effortlessly styled hair, but i don't know if this cut would make me look super old?
I'm not a big fan of this hairdo, though Karlie Kloss rocks it - i'd rather something shorter?
I'm preeeetty sure i'm gonna bring this picture along. Her wavy hair is so lovely, really textured and layered and i think with this cute there's a lot you can do with it.

yesterday i was messing around with my low bun, and just took a picture to see what it could be like - i reaaaally like it, though i obviously know this picture isn't realistic at all ;)

deep down inside, there's still 11 year old me, wanting hair like Vanessa Hudgens or Frankie Sanford (not because they're 11 year old hair cuts, it's just because i used to love those two and their dos') but i know this wouldn't happen with my hair as it's too curly.

Soooo yeah!

Very long and random, but i'll keep you updated on the hair thing!

i honestly don't know whether i'm going to walk out pleased with long hair, disappointed with long hair or pleased with short hair or disappointed with short hair. Who knows.

Haul!

Hello all you beautiful little people!
Not that you're ittle of course

So i am here today with a haul of the stuff i bought with my absolutely amazing bez, molly (molls or mollucifer; or patchwork pansies)!

May i just say, Molly is the perfect person to go shopping with. She gives you advice, tells you what looks nice and what doesn't and MAKES YOU BUY THINGS. C'est magnifique.

This dress is from River Island, it was in the sale for FIFTEEN POUNDS. THAT'S INCREDIBLE! Now I can't photograph dresses to look nice, so just imagine it nicer. It's navy, and has got a lace detailing. SO pretty and rather Tanya Burr-ish. It's in one size lower, but it still just about fits and it's too cute.
Next things are these two lovely nail varnishes from No7. i love their nail varnishes, i think they're really good quality, come in lovely qualities and last for a while (although they are a rather large price of £6). I was very pleased because the lady serving me in boots said I could get another one for only 50p! So i snapped up that oppurtunity and bought Star shower.

I used to love my Natural Collection vanilla body spray, but after a while, when everyone wore it I got really sick of the smell and realised it had probably gone off, or my smell buds (?) had changed. But as Molls was picking out her lovely smelling strawberry body spray (haul should be on her blog soon :)) i looked at the scents and realised they actually had quite a few. After many sprays and sniffs, i decided (with the help of molly) that this one was for me and oh my days I am happy with it. ONLY £2, GUYS!
Whilst in Boots, I picked up another trusty eco tools brush. This one is the airbrush concealer brush, and it is sosoosos soft and I can't wait to use it. (£4.99)

Molls and i were browing in Primark. We went to look at the shoes and i saw some for only £3, i picked them up and exclaimed, "MOLLY THESE ARE ONLY £3!" she said back, "WE SHOULD GET MATCHING PAIRS!" and... we did.
Last but definitly not least, my little Accessorize purchases. A lovely pair of big stud earrings and a stack bracelet which is so cute (£3 and I'm not sure what the bracelets were?)

So I hope you enjoyed my haul, have a lovely and wonderful Tuesday and general easter holidays
